Accreditation Application Process

    College and University Accredited Programs
  1. Order the NKBA Toolkit. The NKBA provides a 30 day trial period to review the information. This unique, step-by-step Toolkit valued at over $900. After 30 days, the NKBA will bill you $500 for the cost of the Toolkit. The Toolkit includes the following materials:

  • Develop your kitchen and bath curriculum. In the Toolkit, you will find the NKBA Professional Resource Library. The framework to build your program is contained in the pages of these manuals. In addition to the reference manuals, the Toolkit provides projects to use in the classroom, along with PowerPoint presentations. Incorporate these NKBA materials into an existing degree program or create a new kitchen and bath certificate or degree program.
  • Submission of Application Packet to the NKBA. Once your program is created, submit the following to the NKBA: (1) kitchen and bath curriculum approved by school administration; (2) catalog and copy of description of the program; (3) NKBA Accreditation Verification Forms found in the Toolkit; (4) NKBA membership application and fees*; (5) copies of student work from the existing kitchen and bath class if applying for a full accreditation status; and (6) arrange for a verification visit to your program. Full accreditation requires proof of one graduation.

    *All NKBA Supported educational institutions and NKBA Accredited educational institutions must be a dues paying Associate Member of the National Kitchen & Bath Association. The NKBA Membership fee for educational institutions are $100 one-time membership application fee and $300 yearly dues.
  • Review of Program. The NKBA reviews the submission and informs the educational institution of its status as an NKBA Supported Program (has not met all the requirements for a full accreditation) or an NKBA Accredited Program (program has met all requirements). New NKBA programs submit an annual support fee of $300 (prorated).
