The intention of these guidelines are to increase members' understanding of what is required when completing the Hall of Fame nomination form and the criteria for selection.

The Kitchen and Bath Industry Hall of Fame honors individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the kitchen and bath industry as a whole. Contributions to the growth and development of NKBA are not generally sufficient for induction into the Hall of Fame. NKBA maintains a photo gallery of all Hall of Fame members at its headquarters. In addition, inductees will receive national recognition on the NKBA web site, in the Association's quarterly magazine, Profiles and are honored at the annual NKBA Gala.

On or about June 20th, voting members of NKBA are mailed a nomination form along with a cover letter explaining who can be nominated and how to go about it. The due date for nominations will be not less than four weeks following the mailing date; nominations received after the deadline date cannot be considered.

Guidelines:

In order to be considered for recommendation, nomination forms must be completed in their entirety, incomplete forms shall be disqualified.
If you have nominated someone more than three years ago who has not been selected, you may re-nominate that person.
Pre-written or duplicated forms drafted or completed by someone other then the individual signing and submitting the nomination is not permissible. Such nominations shall be disqualified. Election is not based on an individual receiving multiple nominations; each selection is based on the merit of the nominee.
Nomination entries submitted by groups (Chapters, Advisory Councils, etc.) will be considered as one nomination.
Only nominations made by NKBA voting members will be considered; nominations from a member of a nominees' immediate family will not be accepted.
Submit completed Hall of Fame Nomination form via fax to NKBA at 908-813-8257, mail to NKBA at 687 Willow Grove Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.

Recommendation Process

Inductees are reviewed by the Hall of Fame Committee from nominations made by NKBA voting members. Copies of all current nominations are forwarded to the committee; they are asked to review all nominations made within three years including new nominations for discussion. The Committee is not required to recommend any nominees and may recommend up to three.

During a late-summer conference call, the committee selects up to three candidates to recommend to the Board of Directors for action. The Board of Directors will be presented with the Hall of Fame Committee's recommendations during the annual fall board meeting.

Following the notification of the Board of Directors, letters of congratulations are then mailed to the individual(s) to be inducted. Acknowledgement notice is sent to the members who submitted the nomination form for the new inductees. Letters will be sent to the nominators for those not chosen for induction, indicating that they will automatically be resubmitted for consideration for the next two years.
