LAS VEGAS, Nev. - A record-breaking number of attendees from North America and abroad packed the conference rooms and the aisles in all three expo halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center from May 7-10 at this year's Kitchen/Bath Industry Show (K/BIS). More than 44,000 kitchen and bath industry professionals previewed the newest trends, designs and products displayed in over 1,000 exhibits by the world's leading manufacturers.

Owned by the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), for more than 40 years K/BIS has been the premier showcase for the very latest and greatest in the kitchen and bath industry.

A full array of professionals representing the kitchen and bath industry visited the show, including dealers, designers, architects, distributors, and retailers, helping to make this the largest K/BIS yet, and a full house crowded the show floor to get a preview of this year's product and design innovations. Exhibitors included Kohler, BSH (Bosch, Siemens, Thermador, and Gaggenau), LG Electronics, Sub-Zero-Wolf, Moen, GE Appliances, Viking Range, Broan-Nutone, Grohe, Dacor, Haier America, and many more well-known brands in the kitchen and bath industry.

"K/BIS is the premier appliance trade show for LG Electronics and serves as an incredible platform to launch our new product innovations for the U.S. market. This year was no exception," says John Herrington, President, Digital Appliances, LG Electronics USA, which introduced its cutting-edge steam dryer and HDTV refrigerator at K/BIS 2007. "The show is a great venue to meet with our retail partners and fellow industry leaders to help drive the future direction of our industry."

"K/BIS is once again a tremendous success for both exhibitors and attendees," said Cory Smith, VP of the Kitchen and Bath Group, The Nielsen Company, the producer of K/BIS. "With attendance at an all time high, the show continues to deliver a valuable service as the leading industry event for the latest information, trends and products for the kitchen and bath."

With the largest-ever number of exhibitors, K/BIS remains the ultimate source for new products and innovative design ideas and attendees enjoy the show's strength and growth. "As a one-stop shop for diverse consumer targets, this is the first year that all four of BSH's premium brands (Bosch, Siemens, Thermador, and Gaggenau) were displayed at the show - making us a unique manufacturer in the U.S. industry," said Franz J. Bosshard, President and CEO, BSH Home Appliances.

"This is our first year at K/BIS and we are thrilled to be here. It's great to see designers, builders and manufacturers all in the same place, and we have had a great crowd in our booth," said Ann Night, Teragren, Bainbridge Island, Wash. "This really is the ideal show for kitchen and bath professionals."

Exhibitor booths not only showcased products, but they also delivered entertaining events and special guest appearances. Retired basketball star Allan Houston drew a huge crowd while signing autographs at Haier's booth, and Sam Talbot from Top Chef was on-hand greeting attendees at the Elkay booth. Marcus Samuelsson, star of Discovery Channel's Inner Chef, promoted BlueStar's high-performance gas ranges and cooktops with a lively cooking demonstration. In their booth, Broan-Nutone awarded winners of their 2007 Best Kitchen Design Competition a trip to Rome and $10,000, and many exhibitors announced new product launches.

"The Kitchen and Bath Show is one of Moen's times to shine -- some of our most significant launches are saved for this show -- and we certainly weren't disappointed with this year's event," said David Lingafelter, President of Global Businesses, and Moen. "We were impressed with the quality of attendees that walked through our booth. And we heard nothing but positive feedback about our most significant product introductions. We look forward to another successful showing next year in Chicago in 2008."

The NKBA/Meredith Design Idea Center (DIC) was again a standout at this year's show. The DIC offered attendees the opportunity to experience new products and designs in fully-constructed living environments. Better Homes and Gardens®, Kitchen and Bath Ideas®, Traditional Home®, Country Home®, and Midwest Living® each presented interpretations on "Everyday Getaways" that created the feeling of vacation at home.

Kitchen and Bath Ideas' "Gourmet Traveler At Home" presented a kitchen and wine tasting room outfitted for well-traveled and culinarily adventurous homeowners; Better Homes and Gardens' "Gardener's Kitchen" featured indoor and outdoor amenities for the ultimate green thumbs; Country Home's two-room cottage was a cozy getaway with space-saving innovations; Traditional Home offered an everyone-gather-round beach retreat-style kitchen; and Midwest Living's converted barn retreat displayed a back-to-nature kitchen and bath to bring the outdoors in.

The NKBA Industry Trends Marketplace was another hot spot on the show floor, featuring green design, outdoor living and kitchen and bath technology, featuring the NexGen "Market Trends" Home Experience. The NexGen House highlighted the emerging trend of automation in kitchen and bath design, and many devices in the house were controlled by software that allows users to control everything from lighting and temperature to a security system from one central location.

Another large draw at the show was the New Product Pavilion, sponsored by K+BB Magazine, where attendees had the opportunity to view the show's hottest products and vote for their favorites. Winners for the best new kitchen and bath products were announced live at the K+BB booth. "We were so proud and pleased to announce the 2007 K/BIS New Product Pavilion winners this year. Each year, the caliber and ingenuity of the products on display continues to rise, and this year was no exception. Both the Best Kitchen Product Winner, Element Designs' Eluma Aluminum Frame Light Panel cabinet doors that integrate LEDs, and Best Bath Product, Panfan's PFC Series toilet ventilation that removes bowl odors, are truly innovative concepts," said Stephanie Herzfeld, Senior Editor, K+BB Magazine. "Based on our winners this year, we can hardly wait to see what the New Product Pavilion at K/BIS 2008 will bring."

The K/BIS conference offered attendees many educational opportunities to keep up-to-date on emerging trends in design, business leadership and technology. "K/BIS is a place for professionals who are serious about their education," said Bob Garner, 2007 President of the NKBA. "NKBA courses challenge and educate professionals of all experience levels, and continue to push our industry forward." The courses covered everything from green remodeling and lighting design to business management and European trends, and so much more.

"I loved the conferences - they bring up questions from participants that might not occur to me, and new ideas are shared," said Susie Rummel of Creative Solutions, Lafayette, Calif. "The interaction and idea sharing are inspirational for designers."

This year's keynote speakers were inspirational, and included Dr. John C. Maxwell, founder of INJOY Group which helps people reach their personal and leadership potential; Howard Putnam, former CEO of Southwest Airlines, who stressed flexibility in business and core values; and Jeff Taylor, founder and former CEO of monster.com, who spoke to attendees about how to combine innovative vision and strategic action to achieve their goals.

Following K/BIS tradition, the NKBA kicked off the show with the Board of Directors' Gala & Cocktail Reception in the Venetian Ballroom. Hundreds of guests were welcomed to this year's "fire and ice" themed gala and were treated to a night of dining and dancing. The ceremony included the announcement of this year's Hall of Fame Inductees, Lothar Birkenfeld from Poggenpohl USA and Wood-Mode's Donald O'Connor.

For the first time, the winners of the 2007 Professional Design Competition winners were announced during the show. Recognizing excellence in the field of design and talent in designing exceptional spaces and the true art of the industry, winners were revealed at the NKBA Center Stage Area during the NKBA Design Competition Luncheon. Walking away with the top prizes were Anthony Binns, CKD, CBD, winning the Pinnacle of Design Award; Richard Landon, CMKBD, with the Best Overall Kitchen Award; Peter Harms was recognized for the Best Overall Bathroom/Powder Room category; and Gerard Ciccarello, CMKBD, who won the Best Before & After Award.

"We are excited by the continued success of K/BIS, and look forward to next year's show in Chicago to maintain and increase the incredible strength and energy of the kitchen and bath industry," said Michael Kelly, Chief Executive Officer of the NKBA. "Exhibitors and attendees are thriving in this community, and remain at the head of the industry. We anticipate another great show next April."

K/BIS 2008 will be held at McCormick Place in Chicago, April 11-13.
