Hackettstown, N.J. - (September 5, 2007) For every designer, there is a process. Putting brush to canvas, pencil to paper and turning the dream into reality. This creative process combines inspiration, innovation and expert know-how to create a tangible work of art. As a member of the NKBA, you are one of the master artists of the industry. Entries are now being accepted for the 2008 NKBA Design Competition: Art of the Industry. Entry deadline is October 19, 2007.

The 2008 NKBA Design Competition provides the canvas for master artists to display their work. NKBA Design Competition finalists receive cash awards, valuable publicity opportunities, complimentary registration to the 2008 Kitchen/Bath Industry Show & Conference (K/BIS®) and peer recognition for their accomplishments.

Open only to NKBA members, the NKBA Design Competition recognizes the talent of kitchen and bathroom designers to plan safe, functional and personalized spaces that incorporate imaginative design statements and aesthetically pleasing solutions. A panel of 14 NKBA certified designers judged each project based on visual appeal, creativity, elements and principles of design, presentation, and safety and ergonomics, using the NKBA Kitchen and Bath Planning Guidelines.

Awards are presented for First, Second and Third place, as well as Honorable Mention in 10 categories. Additionally, several entries receive special merit and further monetary prizes. Sponsored by Sub-Zero®/Wolf®, The Pinnacle of Design recognizes the best overall entry. Kitchen and Bath Ideas® magazine sponsors The Best Before and After Award presented to the project representing the greatest transformation. Additionally, Miele sponsors the Best Overall Kitchen Award and Dal-Tile sponsors The Best Overall Bathroom/Powder Room Award. A new award for 2008, the Smartest Hot Water Award, sponsored by Rheem Tankless, recognizes the best use of energy-efficient hot water delivery.
