Hackettstown, NJ (October 25, 2007) - For the second consecutive year, The National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) exhibited at the BKBG Fall Conference held in Atlanta, GA on October 20-21, 2007. This year, the NKBA was proud to premiere the NKBA Intern Provider Program. Sherylin Doyle, NKBA Manager of Endorsed Programs, commented, "The education department knew that this was the best conference to premier the program. The uniqueness of having an opportunity to speak one on one with each of the attendees was ideal for the rollout. Both Marian McGlew, NKBA Membership Assistant, and I received dozen of comments from BKBG members expressing their gratefulness for our attendance. It gave them a one-stop shopping experience by being able to see all that NKBA offers in just nine minutes."

The intern program is open only to NKBA Member Firms. The NKBA asks each of the member firms to share their expertise with students that are studying at NKBA Supported/Endorsed Programs. These schools teach the body of knowledge found in the NKBA Professional Resource Library, which is essential as a foundation to be successful in the industry. Students in the more than 52 accredited schools across North America must complete an 160-hour internship in the industry to receive NKBA recognition for completing an accredited program. As a token of thanks, the firm receives recognition in the Association's magazine Profiles, a certificate to display at their business, a booklet to help plan for the internship and the satisfaction of knowing they have helped someone else, as well as their profession.

The Association was pleased to have 60 members register for the intern program at the conference. In addition to member attendees, Jay Rambo Company, Tulsa, Okla., a cabinet manufacturer and a vendor at the show, signed up to host an intern. Ralph Lackner CKD, CBD stated, "I have the perfect industry experience, the intern can learn all about my product line in the manufacturing plant and then learn the sales end in our retail showroom. Of course, we are willing to pay our intern and provide travel assistance if necessary. This intern will be invaluable to any of the Jay Rambo dealers and the industry as a whole when he or she completes their education."

Daltile, an NKBA Corporate Member and vendor, also registered for the program. "We hope to place interns at all 247 Daltile locations across North America," stated Gary Grossman, Daltile National Sales Manager Dealers. "We feel it would be a win-win proposition for both Daltile and the future designers." For more information about the NKBA Intern Provider Program, contact NKBA Customer Service at (800) THE-NKBA.
