Hackettstown, NJ (January 31, 2008) - The National Kitchen & Bath Association today announced the eight winners of the 2007/2008 NKBA Student Design Competition. Sponsored by American Woodmark Corporation and Sub-Zero/Wolf, this competition finds the rising stars of the kitchen and bath industry by challenging young designers to create a functional kitchen or bath with natural finishes that complement the architectural style of a Spanish ranch home under construction in Texas.
The students' work had to meet the specific needs of the homeowners, a newlywed couple whose diverse, and sometimes conflicting, interests and tastes had to be reflected in the room designs. The winning designs show creativity in developing beautiful rooms that meet the clients' needs, which include the use of natural or recycled materials, as well as kid-friendly amenities. The students' creations also offer insight into the kitchen and bath design trends for next year and beyond. The following eight winners' designs were chosen from among the hundreds of entries the NKBA received.

1st Place: Tanja Uzar, Brigham Young University, Rexburg, ID
2nd Place: Satoshi Serizawa, Seminole Community College, Sanford, FL
3rd Place: Sanchali Srivastava, West Valley College, Saratoga, CA
