HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. and CHATSWORTH, CALIF. (February 14, 2008) - The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) and Lamps Plus Professionals will present the Lamps Plus "Lighting for Life Design Challenge Award" at the Educator's Forum on Thursday April 10 at 10:30 a.m. at the NKBA's Kitchen/Bath Industry Show & Conference (K/BIS®) held in McCormick Place in Chicago.

The award recognizes those students who develop the best tips for consumers and professionals on how to solve design problems using Lamps Plus products from their kitchen or bath projects, including ancillary areas, that they created in school. Examples of design challenges include historic restoration, enhancement of color or universal design applications.

Three students will be selected as finalists and each will be awarded a $500 scholarship, plus a $1,000 travel stipend to K/BIS. In addition, each finalist's school will be given a $1,000 travel stipend to K/BIS. The grand award-winning student will also receive an additional $1,500 scholarship and an award plaque from Lamps Plus. Each of the finalists and their schools will also be featured in Profiles Magazine, the NKBA's quarterly publication.

There's still time for students to enter this year's "Lighting for Life Design Challenge." The submission deadline is March 1 and entries for up to three students may be submitted from each school. Any NKBA Student Member enrolled at a college or university in a curriculum supported or accredited (formerly endorsed) by the National Kitchen & Bath Association is eligible.
