HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (March 11, 2008) - The National Kitchen & Bath Association will hold the NKBA Design Competition Awards Luncheon on Friday, April 11, 2008 from 11:30am – 1:30pm at the NKBA's Kitchen/Bath Industry Show & Conference (K/BIS®) held at McCormick Place in Chicago at NKBA Center Stage. This prominent industry event recognizes those designers who created the best kitchens and baths of 2007. The luncheon is an exclusive event available only to the press, top designers and select industry insiders.
The designers were chosen through the 2007/2008 NKBA Design Competition sponsored by 20-20 Technologies, Dal-Tile, Kitchen and Bath Ideas Magazine, Miele, Rheem and Sub-Zero/Wolf. This event will offer a unique opportunity for members of the press to interview the most influential designers in the industry, as well as learn the latest kitchen and bath design trends and be the first to hear who this year's top designers are.
In addition, GE will announce the NKBA & GE $100,000 Dream Kitchen Design Contest winners, awarding $25,000 to the designer of the best kitchen integrating GE Monogram® appliances. GE will also award $35,000 for outstanding kitchen and celebrity kitchen designs, as well as $40,000 in scholarships to students with the best kitchen designs and concepts.
Also recognized during the luncheon are the eight winners of the NKBA Student Design Competition. Sponsored by American Woodmark and Sub-Zero/Wolf, this competition finds the rising stars in the kitchen and bath industry. Their winning designs offer insight into the design trends for next year and beyond, as this annual competition challenges young designers to create the most functional and beautiful spaces.
Please note that a limited number of seats are available to the press for the NKBA Design Competition Awards Luncheon. Media members interested in attending are encouraged to contact NKBA Editorial Services Coordinator Diana Tuorto at (908) 813-2297 or at dtuorto@nkba.org as soon as possible. Pre-registered video crews are welcome to film the event.
