Honorable Mention Bathroom

Brittany chose to design the Lamberts’ spa retreat
floor plan modeled on Japanese bathrooms she
had visited. The shower room is open, with a soaking
tub and a separate toilet area. A glass wall
separates the space to make the tub and shower areas focal
points. She installed a “KWC Hansa Cannon Faucet that
uses LED lights to show when water temperature changes.”
Different water ports and an overhead water tile invoke
images of a far away place. Brittany used natural stone
and marble tile to create a spa-like retreat. The finishing
touch was to use chicken wire and a border of handmade
ceramic tiles with chickens on them. The chicken theme
serves as a reminder of being at home.
